If you're lucky enough to have the opportunity to work with Sam, TAKE IT! We started working with another architect on a near-gut renovation of our home, and turned to Sam partway through the engagement because we weren't getting what we needed. Sam promptly rescued our project and rev'ed on the designs to a far superior version of what our home could be. Sam's not only excellent technically, but he understands the big picture -- how the designs will impact complexity, cost, and timeline; when to index more heavily on form v function and vice versa; and how we truly want to live in our space.
